Throughout the Spanish-speaking world, cannabis is often referred to as “María.” For centuries, Indigenous communities have associated unique energies and personalities with specific plants, seeing them as spirits with distinct healing powers. The connection between cannabis and the archetypal energy of Mother Mary aligns with the plant’s potential, when used consciously, to invite introspection, presence, creativity, and a profound sense of loving connection to oneself, others, and the natural world. As cannabis legalization becomes more widespread, so does the potential for its misuse through casual, non-ceremonial (recreational) use. This evening invites us to reflect on our relationship with this potent plant, deepening our ability to work consciously with it and receive the gifts of its medicine.
The night will be dedicated to working with cannabis to connect with the archetypal energy of Mother Mary, particularly as Our Lady of Guadalupe, with her indigenous roots. Mother Mary embodies the Divine Feminine—a powerful source of light, hope, and loving compassion. In these challenging times, when personal, national, and global struggles weigh on us, we can turn to her archetypal wisdom to reconnect with our inner light. Cultivating a conscious relationship with cannabis and the Mother Mary archetype can foster personal and collective healing, allowing them to become allies in the work of growth and resilience. We will also work with rose as an additional plant ally, inviting its gentle, heart-opening energy to further support our connection and healing journey.
The evening will include music and sound healing to facilitate deeper healing, opening, and connection with the plants and the spirit of Mary. These elements will create a meditative atmosphere, helping participants enter a more receptive, heart-centered space for communion with the Divine Feminine.
Please Note: This event is not a religious rite or ritual, nor is it affiliated with any specific aspect of Christianity or Catholicism. We will hold a supportive, open spiritual space that honors cannabis as a sacred plant medicine and Mother Mary as an archetypal embodiment of the Divine Feminine. All are welcome, regardless of faith or non-faith, to participate in this judgment-free space dedicated to our healing and growth.
This event will be facilitated by kol isha, with additional sound healing and support from Green
